Common solvents: toluene, xylene, butyl acetate, trimethylbenzene CAC、PMA、BCS、 Butanol and other petroleum solvents are isomeric grade products with low purity and odor, and low moisture and other component content. Especially for solvents such as toluene and xylene commonly used as reflux solvents, the narrower the process range, the better.
If the moisture content of the solvent is too high, after adding the solvent, sufficient time should be ensured before the dropwise addition reaction of the mixed monomers. Under reflux stirring, the solvent should be dehydrated until the water is completely removed. After adding all the solvents in the later stage of the reaction, it is required to reflux for 30 minutes in the process, which cannot be ignored. Firstly, it ensures that all the water in the system is carried out through reflux. Secondly, it ensures that there are very few residual monomers/initiators in the system to avoid problems such as strong resin odor and poor paint durability.
