KDD MR7323E Functional Hydroxyl Acrylic Resin | Selection Guide for Benzene-Free PU Coatings with High Adhesion on Multiple Substrates
Release time:2026-07-29
Preface
Current industrial PU metal coatings, advertising sign coatings and modified resin systems generally have three major pain points: poor adhesion on multi-metal and fiberglass plastic substrates, whitening and peeling after water immersion, environmental restrictions caused by benzene-containing solvents, and the inability to balance film gloss and hardness. As a functional acrylic resin, KDD Kedings MR7323E solves common industry defects with a precise molecular hydroxyl structure, benzene-free formula and broad-spectrum substrate adhesion performance.

2. Core Performance Indicators and Horizontal Comparison with Competitors
Performance Dimension | KDD MR7323E Test Result | General Ordinary Hydroxyl Acrylic Resin | Core Advantage Conclusion |
60° Gloss | 96.5Gs | 78-88Gs | High gloss and excellent film fullness, which greatly improves the appearance texture of workpieces |
Water Resistance | No peeling or blistering after 10 days of immersion in 40℃ warm water (PASS) | Whitening and cross-cut paint peeling after 3-5 days of 40℃ water immersion | The dense cross-linked film structure provides significantly better water penetration resistance than peer products |
Environmental Protection Property | Natively benzene-free | Most products contain toluene carrier solvent | Compliant with VOC and benzene substance environmental control standards for coating industries in various regions |
Metal Substrate Adhesion | Excellent adhesion on stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized sheet, magnesium-aluminum alloy and brass | Easy paint peeling on stainless steel and galvanized sheet, primer is mandatory | Compatible with various metals with wider application scope |
Special Plastic Substrate Adhesion | Excellent adhesion on glass fiber reinforced nylon, PVC and vacuum electroplated parts | Extremely poor adhesion on glass fiber nylon and electroplated substrates, priming treatment is required | One-stop adaptation for multi-material composite workpieces with broader application scenarios |
Recoatability | PASS, intact interlayer adhesion without abnormality | Bottom erosion and interlayer peeling easily occur during recoating for some batches | Higher production stability and yield rate for rework and multi-layer spraying processes |

3. Applicable Substrates
3.1 Metal Substrates (Core Advantage Field)
Polished tinplate, 304 mirror stainless steel, 1060 pure aluminum, AZ31B magnesium-aluminum alloy, galvanized sheet, brass, vacuum electroplated parts
3.2 Plastic/Composite Substrates
PVC, PC, glass fiber reinforced nylon, glass
4. Core Application Scenarios
4.1 Outdoor Advertising Sign Coatings
Relying on high gloss, long-term water resistance and benzene-free environmental protection properties, it is suitable for galvanized sheet, aluminum sheet and PVC advertising plates. It can resist outdoor rain immersion and sunlight exposure, maintaining long-term gloss and non-peeling of paint films, meeting the coating needs of various outdoor signboards.
4.2 PU Metal Topcoat
Specially developed for metal substrates such as stainless steel, magnesium-aluminum alloy, brass and vacuum electroplated parts, it is applicable to the protective and decorative coating of various hardware decorative parts and small metal accessories.
4.3 Modifier for Coating Resin Systems
It can be blended with general resin systems such as ordinary acrylic resin and nitrocellulose to effectively improve the overall adhesion, water resistance and film gloss of the system, make up for the adhesion defects of general resins on metal and glass fiber substrates, and optimize the comprehensive performance of finished coatings.

5. FAQ
Q1: Can MR7323E be mixed with CAB and vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate resin?
A: Mixing is not allowed. TDS compatibility tests confirm that MR7323E is completely incompatible with the above resins. Mixing will cause serious defects such as system delamination, film loss of gloss, surface particles and aluminum powder floating. To adjust the system hand feel and drying speed, only a small amount of 1/4 NC nitrocellulose can be added.
Q2: How to solve poor adhesion when spraying on 304 brushed stainless steel?
A: This product only provides excellent adhesion on 304 mirror stainless steel and has no adhesion effect on 304 brushed stainless steel. Solutions: 1. Spray with a special epoxy metal primer as undercoat; 2. Replace with a special adhesion resin suitable for brushed stainless steel. Direct spraying with MR7323E alone is not recommended.
Q3: Is this benzene-free product a zero-VOC product?
A: The resin itself contains no benzene raw materials such as toluene and xylene, but carrier solvents (butyl acetate, etc.) and construction diluents are volatile organic solvents, so it is not a zero-VOC product. The construction workshop shall be equipped with ventilation and explosion-proof spraying equipment, and strictly comply with industrial coating safety specifications.
6. Comprehensive Product Conclusion
1. Clear product positioning: MR7323E is a benzene-free, environmentally friendly, medium-low hydroxyl value functional acrylic resin with broad adaptability to metal and glass fiber plastic substrates. Its core advantages are strong multi-substrate adhesion, ultra-high gloss and long-term water resistance, which accurately solves the performance shortcomings of general acrylic resins in stainless steel, glass fiber reinforced nylon and galvanized sheet systems.
2. Clear target users: It is mainly applicable to advertising coating manufacturers, hardware PU metal coating manufacturers, and formula enterprises that need to modify and optimize coating performance.
3. Outstanding benzene-free and cost performance: The benzene-free formula meets environmental protection control requirements; it has wide compatibility with solvents and additives, flexible formula adjustment space, and far better mass production stability than ordinary acrylic resins at the same price.
